Where does Apollo Beach’s water come from?
Apollo Beach primarily receives its water supply from the Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department. The water is sourced from a combination of groundwater and surface water. Groundwater is obtained from the Floridan Aquifer, which is a vast underground reservoir that spans much of Florida. Surface water is obtained from nearby sources such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. The Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department treats and distributes the water to the residents and businesses of Apollo Beach, ensuring that the water is safe and meets all the necessary quality standards.
Contaminants
The water sources for Apollo Beach residences generally contain trace amounts of a number of different contaminants. Local governments routinely test and provide reports on these. They are required to keep these levels below what is considered toxic, according to regulation.
This includes:
