Where does Lithia’s water come from?

Lithia’s primary water source is typically derived from groundwater. Hillsborough County relies heavily on groundwater for its water supply.

The primary aquifer in the region is the Floridan Aquifer System, which is a vast underground water-bearing layer that extends throughout Florida and parts of neighboring states. The Floridan Aquifer System consists of several layers of permeable limestone and is a major source of drinking water for much of Florida, including Hillsborough County.

Contaminants

The water sources for Lithia residences generally contain trace amounts of a number of different contaminants. Local governments routinely test and provide reports on these. They are required to keep these levels below what is considered toxic, according to regulation.
