Where does Clearwater Beach’s water come from?
The city of Clearwater encompasses Clearwater Beach. Around 60 percent of the water comes from groundwater wells owned and operated by the city, while Pinellas County Utilities provide the rest of the daily demand through purchased water. Clearwater’s groundwater derives from the Floridan Aquifer, which serves as the source of groundwater for the area.
Contaminants
The water sources for Clearwater Beach residences generally contain trace amounts of a number of different contaminants. Local governments routinely test and provide reports on these. They are required to keep these levels below what is considered toxic, according to regulation.
This includes:
