The main sources of Ruskin’s water supply come from a blend of groundwater and surface water. The responsibility for providing water to the area lies with the Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department. They acquire groundwater from the Floridan Aquifer, an expansive underground reservoir spanning a significant portion of Florida. Additionally, they utilize surface water, drawing from rivers, lakes, and reservoirs in proximity. After treatment, the Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department distributes the treated water to the residents and businesses in Ruskin.
